Congratulations to the new 2018-2019 Science Bowl team members!

Congratulations to the following students who qualified for the Bret Harte National Science Bowl team for the 2018-2019 school year! Elsley, Jasper Gianchandani, Ruhan Gokhule, Amil Hsieh, Alex Saxena, Siddh Sue, Kristie Xie, Daniel Zarabi, Aarush This list is subject to meeting all applicable eligibility requirements, including age and school attendance, set out in the final rules when published by the U.S. Department of Energy later this year. Please watch your email for a notice for the first team meeting.

Written Test Results

Students participating in Speech and Debate will take part in the second session, starting at approximately 4:30. This testing session is mandatory , and no makeup sessions will be possible.

Names of the selected students participating in this test will be announced here as soon as the papers are graded. The buzzer test will be one time only. No make up tests will be possible. Note: the time has been changed to 4:15 PM to accommodate a number of students who had a conflict with the previously scheduled time.

Paper test will be at 4:15 on Wednesday May 16th at Staff Dining Room

Welcome to the Bret Harte Middle School National Science Bowl Blog

This is the blog for the 2018-2019 National Science Bowl (NSB) team for Bret Harte Middle School in San Jose, California. We will be posting announcements here during the duration of the NSB program.This blog is maintained by Terry Carroll and Lucy Carroll, coaches for this year's team. Members of the team and their parents can post questions here in reply to posts. The National Science Bowl is a nationwide competition for high school and  middle school students sponsored by the United States Department of Energy. It tests students’ knowledge in mathematics, biology, chemistry, Earth science, and physics. For more information on the national competition, please see the NSB's official page at the U.S. Department of Energy web site. Our first meeting will be Saturday 5pm on campus at the Marquee area. Students who are interested, please bring a parent and meet us there!
